We may think of Modernism as being started in the late 1800's, it roughly occured in the year 1875 and the mid 1900's Modernism is a style or movements in the arts such as painting, Sculpture,Architecture, Literature and Poetry etc. In simple terms, artists believe that art is needed to change to reflect the change in society. It was becoming much more modern and industrial.

After WW2 the writing was completely changed into talking about the lack of trust in the government and religion. It also shown the fears of a darker side in humanity.
